AHDF Annual Sponsorship

About the Sponsorship

The AHDF has been established to sponsor an amateur Australian rider on an Australian bred horse, trained by the rider to medium level.

We will be awarding a single sponsorship prize each year.  The sponsorship will comprise a cash prize plus in-kind goods and services (eg horse feed, equipment) raised by the Foundation each year.

Entries for the inaugural 2008 AHDF Sponsorship will open in May and the winner will be announced in November.

Entry and Judging Criteria

Applicants must be Australian riders on an Australian bred horse, trained by the rider to medium dressage level.

A panel of five judges will assess the applications on the following:

    1. Their performance in official Australian dressage competitions in the year preceding the date of calling for applications. Standard FEI guidelines (the Grade Point System) will be applied in calculating points.
    2. A knowledge test.
    3. Their completed application form including:
      - Their personal training program
      - How they intend to use the funds
      - How they currently are, and intend to, contribute to the sport of dressage in Australia
    4. Nomination of two (2) referees.

Upcoming dressage competitions can be found in the 2008 Competition Calendar on the EFA website http://www.efanational.com/calendar/.

The 2008 AHDF Award Selection Panel of Judges will be announced shortly.
